New Features in BiblioFile Version 1.4

Updated 6/24/2008.

For a list of all features, see BiblioFile features.

Maintenance release

Version 1.4 is a maintenance release and does not contain any significant new features. The licensing has been updated to insure that current users will not be confronted with a software expiration notice. Upgraders from Version 1.1 will notice that the registration process has been considerably simplified.

Version 1.4 is compatible with Windows Vista but requires a special setup. See the instructions.

Known Issues in Version 1.4

Version 1.4 provides full backwards compatibility for all major ITS for Windows features except card printing, which will be addressed in a future release. There are other minor issues in the current release (1.4) that will either be addressed in 1.5 or have been deferred pending user feedback. Learn more.

Upgrading from a prior BiblioFile version

Upgrading from prior versions of BiblioFile is easy. Download the new software or request it on CD from TLC Support. Run the Setup program and select the same options you selected when you installed BiblioFile. i.e., check or uncheck the software and database boxes depending on how your machine is configured. Take note, however, of the following caveats:

  1. In a network environment, be sure to upgrade all client stations that use BiblioFile.

  2. If you are upgrading from Version 1.1 in a network environment, upgrade the server first, then the clients. Database changes made in Version 1.3 (and continued into Version 1.4) are incompatible with the old 1.1 software.

  3. If you are upgrading from Version 1.0, clear the label queue before upgrading. Label queuing was changed in Version 1.1. Version 1.0 queues are recognized as print queues in Versions 1.1 or later.

For more information, see the upgrade instructions.
