The Books bibliographic format specification is used for printed, manuscript , and microform textual material that is monographic in nature. The designator code BK is often used in written MARC documentation for this material type.
A record created using the BK specifications is identified in Leader/07 (Bibliographic level) by code a (Monographic component part), code c (Collection), or code m (Monograph/Item).
