In 1975, character position 008/34 was redefined. Prior to the definition of variable data field 222 (Key title) in 1975, 008/34 was defined as Title as it appears on the piece designator. The defined codes were: d (Different), t (Same as field 245 ), and m (Same as 1XX plus 245 fields).
