Subfield $e contains the place of manufacture and any additions to the place name. When subfield $e is recorded, subfield $f is also generally recorded.

In records formulated according to ISBD principles, subfield $e is recorded after any subfield $a, $b, or $c. Subfield $e data along with any subfield $f and $g data are enclosed in parentheses. Subfield $e includes all data up to and including the next mark of ISBD punctuation [i.e., a colon ( : )].
