Subfield $e contains a description of accompanying material. It may include any associated physical description statements enclosed in parentheses.
In AACR 2 records formulated according to ISBD principles, subfield $e follows a "plus sign" ( + ) and contains all remaining data in the field.
Examples:
300 ##$a271 p. :$bill. ;$c21 cm. +$e1 answer book.
300 ##$a271 p. :$bill. ;$c21 cm. +$e1 atlas (37 p., 19 leaves : col. maps ; 37 cm.)

For non-AACR 2 records formulated according to ISBD principles, subfield $e precedes an ampersand ( & ).
Example:

For non-ISBD records, subfield $e precedes the word "and".
Example:
