Display Constants (510 Citation/References Note - Input Conventions)
Multiple 510 fields are generally printed or displayed as one note although carried in separate fields in the MARC record.
Introductory terms or phrases such as References:, Indexed by:, etc. are not carried in the MARC record. They may be system generated as display constants
associated with the first indicator value.

When multiple 510 fields occur the data is often reformatted into one paragraph on printed products. Each citation is separated by a semicolon-space (; ) and the concatenated note ends with a period. This punctuation is not carried in the MARC record but may be system generated as a display constant associated with multiple 510 fields.
