830 Second indicator: Value 0 - No nonfiling characters present

Value 0 indicates that no initial article character positions are disregarded.

Diacritical marks or special characters at the beginning of a uniform title field that does not begin with an initial article are not counted as nonfiling characters.

An initial definite or indefinite article may also simply be deleted in the formulation of the uniform title field.

Example:

830 #0$aWonders of man series.

[Full title is The Wonders of man series.]

If the initial article is retained but is not to be disregarded in sorting and filing processes, value 0 is used.
