Starting character position:
Starting character position (/07-11) in the Directory describes the location of a variable field within the record. It consists of five ASCII numeric characters that indicate the starting character position of the variable field to which the entry corresponds relative to the Base address of data (Leader/12-16 ) of the record. A Starting character position number of less than five digits is right justified and each unused position contains a zero (0).
