Leader/05 Record status (Leader)

The Record status character position contains a one-character alphabetic code that indicates the relationship of the record to a file for file maintenance purposes.

The Leader/05 element may be system generated depending upon the capabilities of the individual system.

Code: Record status description:

a Increase in encoding level

c Corrected or revised

d Deleted
