Series added entry (Bibliographic 440 or 800-830):

An entry, secondary to the main entry , that contains a name/title or a title used to provide additional access to a series statement when required for a bibliographic record. It is used when the added entry form of a series is different from that in the corresponding series statement (bibliographic fields 800-830) or is traced (bibliographic field 440).

In authority records, code a (008/16 - Appropriate) indicates that the 1XX field contains a heading for a monographic series , a multipart item , an occasionally analyzable serial item , or a series-like phrase that is appropriate for use as a series added entry in a bibliographic record, regardless of whether the series is actually traced.
