Responsible Parties Rule
The USMARC Format for Community Information serves as a vehicle for community information of all types from any organization. In general, the responsibility for the data content, content designation, and transcription of community information data within a record may be determined by applying the tenets of the Responsible Parties Rule. The data content of certain data elements, however, is restricted when the element is an agency-assigned or an authoritative-agency data element.
