Cuttering for words. After determining the filing position of the work, use the following table to create the Cutter :

For numerals
Numbers go in A 12 - 19. Entries beginning with numerals are assigned an A Cutter (.A12 - .A19) and numbered to precede all entries beginning with the letter A. (See G 60, sec. 3.b. , Subject Cataloging Manual: Shelflisting.)
The following examples show Cutters that would be used if entries already shelflisted conform to the table above. In most cases, Cutters must be adjusted to file an entry correctly and to allow room for later entries.
