Named quadrangles are normally cataloged collectively as part of contiguous area map series/sets. In instances when named quadrangles are cataloged separately they are classed under the area covered on the same basis as any other region or natural feature. These quadrangles are not Cuttered under their own name. The name is neither established no traced as a subject heading. It is permissible, however, to classify under and provide subject access by a predominant physical feature or populated place found within the area covered by the quadrangle, or the feature or populated place from which the quadrangle name was derived.
