College and universities are normally Cuttered under the city or town in which they are located by using the colon technique with the Cutter for the city, a :2 and a Cutter for the entity that is based on the established form of the name of the college or university. Example:

Colleges and universities not located in or immediately adjacent to a city or town are classed under a 4 or 9 with a geographic Cutter based solely on the established form of the name.
