Certain areas, such as national forests, parks, etc. may be established with the generic term first. The Cutter is based on the established form of the name and is therefore based on the generic rather than the first keyword. Example:
If a forest, etc. became part of another entity or was divided up and is therefore no longer in existence, the Cutter is based on the name for the time depicted. Example:
If the name of a forest, etc. is changed, but the geographic area remains the same, always use the Cutter and subject heading for the latest form of name. Example:
