Series (Standard Map Series Designation System) - Description:

A separate, full description is made for each item in the series.

The standard map series designation is recorded in a formal variant title note beginning with the standard introductory phrase Standard map series designation. The series designation is recorded in the form in which it appears on the item. If, however, either the English form of the term Series or its equivalent in the language of a non-English title proper does not appear on the item preceding the number or alphanumeric portion of the designation, the missing term(s) is supplied using a parallel title structure when necessary.
