Edition Statement:

When the facsimile has an edition statement relating solely to the reproduction or republication and separate edition statement relating to the original, the edition statement relating to the reproduction is transcribed in the edition area and the edition statement relating to the original is transcribed in the appropriate location within the "original version" note (tag 534).

When the facsimile has a single edition statement relating solely to the reproduction or republication transcribe the statement in the edition area.

When the facsimile contains an edition statement or information relating to the original that was "carried over" to the reproduction as part of the reproduction process, then, if a common title is transcribed as the title proper, consider the edition statement applicable to both and transcribe it in the edition area, or, if a new or modified title unique to the facsimile is recorded as the title proper, consider the edition statement applicable primarily to the original and transcribe it in the "original version" note (tag 534).
