LC/Overseas Acquisition Card Number
For "overseas acquisition" items record the card number as it appears on the cataloging data sheet (form CAT 80-8 (Rev.)) and accompanying card as a cancelled LC card number (tag 010 subfield z), converting the initial character to the appropriate digit, unless the card number falls within the CDS-assigned block of control numbers for the Maps database.(8) If the number is one assigned to Maps use that number as the control number or record identification number (RID).
