LCSH capitalizes, in addition to proper nouns and adjectives, the first word of each subfield, the first word of an inverted part of a heading, and the first word in a qualifier.

MeSH capitalizes all the words in the $a subfield except articles, prepositions, and conjunctions, and it systematically lowercases all words in topical and form subdivision. Example:
