18.5.1. Names entered directly

Enter a corporate body directly under its own name when:

1) It is not subordinate to another body or jurisdiction (AACR2 24.1). Example:

2) It is subordinate to another body or jurisdiction but doesn’t fit under one of the types in AACR2 24.13 or AACR2 24.18. Example:

Note: the emphasis of AACR2 is on direct entry. AACR2 24.12 and 24.17 provide for direct entry of a subordinate body under its own name except when it falls under one of the types. When a name is entered directly, the next consideration is whether it needs to be qualified. (See CCM 18.6.2.)
