18.7.1. Types of conferences and conference headings
There are two distinct types of publications called " conference" publications. The footnote under AACR2 21.1B1 defines two categories of conferences:
category
1. meetings of individuals or representatives of various bodies
for the purpose of discussing and/or acting on topics of common interest
Example:
category
2. meetings of representatives of a corporate body
that constitute its legislative or governing body. Often the name of the
conference consists of no more than a general term such as "meeting,"
"seminar," "workshop," etc. Example:
