Description/Instructions

Field 711 contains added entries for conferences or meetings entered directly under name, including exhibitions, expositions, athletic events, fairs, festivals, etc.  Added entries for conferences entered as subheadings under a corporate body are tagged 710.

First indicator - Type of meeting name entry element

The first indicator is coded according to the type of conference name.  Under AACR2, only value "2" is valid.

Second indicator - Type of added entry

Second indicator value "2" is used for analytical added entries.  For all other added entries, the second indicator value is blank (#).

Subfields

For serials, the most commonly used subfields are:  $a, $t.  Other subfields occasionally used are:  $n, $d, $c.  For a description of other subfields defined for this field, see Headings - General Information.
