Update 7, Fall 1997

Update 7 includes a number of changes, corrections, and updates. Many of the changes stem from the consolidation of the CONSER Program with the Program for Cooperative Cataloging, including those found in A1, A4, A5, and C13. Several changes that cover online serials are included, including new practices for recording 362 information and the 500 "description based on" note. Subject heading fields were revised to indicate limited use of subfield $v. A final change to note is an additional application of the 936 field to record useful information relating to the bibliographic description.
