The Encoding level character position contains a one-character alphanumeric code that indicates the fullness of the bibliographic information and/or content designation of the bibliographic record.

Record requirements (National-level and Minimal-level) for Leader/17 for all types of material:  Mandatory.

Validity by material type:  Leader/17 and its codes in the table below are valid for all types.
