Field 556 contains information about the documentation of a file, such as codebooks which explain the contents and use of the file.
Material which is based on the use, study, or analysis of the file is cited in field 581 (Publications About Described Materials Note).
The note is sometimes displayed and/or printed with an introductory term that is generated as a display constant.
The National level record requirement for this field is Optional.
Field 556 is repeatable.
