867 Textual Holdings - Supplementary Material (R) (Variable Data Field)
Field 867 contains a textual description of the holdings of supplementary material in the collections of the reporting organization. It may be used instead of or in addition to field 864 (Enumeration and Chronology - Supplementary Material) and any related field 854 (Captions and Pattern - Supplementary Material) to record and/or display all or part of the holdings.

A general description of the three textual holdings fields is given in 866-868 Textual Holdings - General Information.
Field 867 is repeatable.

Value 7 - Source specified in subfield $2 [new, 2005]
Subfields $x - Nonpublic note [new, 1987]
$z - Note [redefined, 1987]
In 1987, subfield $x was defined for nonpublic notes and subfield $z (Note) was redefined to include only public notes. Prior to that change, both public and nonpublic notes were contained in subfield $z.
