The copy command can be used to "copy" a GPO record, thus creating a "prompt screen" form the online GPO search-only file for conversion to an LC record. Any record type can be "copied" to the Maps file.

The incorporate command (1) can be used to "copy" a GPO record from OCLC as the basis for "copy cataloging" and the record revised similar to the practice of adapting an NUC outside report for material held by LC. Only records in the maps format (i.e., Type e or Type f) can be "incorporated" in the LC Maps Database. If GPO has cataloged the item as a book (Type a) and the record is not in the online GPO file, the record must be "incorporated" into APIF and then "copied" into Maps using the copy command.
