LC/Overseas Acquisition Card Number

For "overseas acquisition" items record the card number as it appears on the cataloging data sheet (form CAT 80-8 (Rev.)) and accompanying card as a cancelled LC card number (tag 010 subfield z), converting the initial character to the appropriate digit, unless the card number falls within the CDS-assigned block of control numbers for the Maps database. (8) If the number is one assigned to Maps use that number as the control number or record identification number (RID). Example:
