F 634 Literary Collections

Procedure:

Classify as a collection any publication consisting of two or more independent literary works by different authors not written specifically for the publication in hand, regardless of whether the publication has a collection title. Cutter for the main entry. Assign subject headings appropriate for the collection.

If the publication has no collective title, is entered under the work named first on the title page, and that work is the most important aspect of the publication, class the publication as an individual work is the literary author number for the first named work. Assign subject headings only as appropriate for individual literary works. Do not assign headings for the collection.
