6.21 Names borrowed from the Name Authority File

With few exceptions, names of persons, corporate bodies, places, and other entities may be borrowed from the Name Authority File (the machine-readable database containing headings and cross references for personal names, corporate names, and uniform titles) for use as subject headings for works about them. Forms of such headings are based on Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules, 2nd edition (AACR2).
