Field definition and scope:

Field 336 contains the form of communication through which a work is expressed.  It is used in conjunction with Leader /06 (Type of record), which indicates the general type of content of the resource.  Field 336 information enables expression of more specific content types and content types from various lists.

Multiple content types from the same source vocabulary or code list may be recorded in the same field in separate occurrences of subfield $a (Content type term) and subfield $b (Content type code).  Terms from different source vocabularies are recorded in separate occurrences of the field.

The National level record requirement for this field is Optional.

Field 336 is repeatable.
