583 Action Note

Field definition and scope:

Field 583 contains information about processing and reference actions, such as a brief statement about solicitation to acquire material, whether the solicitation is active or inactive, and the date of the last item of correspondence.

This field is also used to record information about preservation actions relating to an item, such as review of condition, queuing for preservation, and completion of preservation.

Field 583 is repeatable to record information about different actions.
