4D2. Fictitious or incorrect dates:

When the year of publication or printing is known to be fictitious or in incorrect, transcribe it as it appears and add the real or correct year in square brackets. (If the full imprint is fictitious or incorrect, apply 4A4 .) Example 1

If a date of printing from the title page has been recorded as the date element of the publication, etc. area, and evidence for a later date of publication appears in a source other than the title page, record the later date as a correction.
