Appendix C: Rare Serials

This appendix is a revised version of the guidelines for treatment of rare serials published in the Library of Congress Cataloging Service Bulletin (CSB), no. 26, fall 1984. The CONSER Operations Committee and CONSER Operations Coordinator co-operated in making some necessary CONSER changes, most of which have been made in the CONSER Editing Guide (CEG). A few other changes have been made, indicated below with a statement of the CEG update number in which notification of the change has been published. (All the MARC format changes described in CSB no. 26 have been made in USMARC Format for Bibliographic Data.)
