Appendix F: Concordance Between Rules in DCRB and AACR2

This concordance shows the relationships between specific rules in DCRB and the 1988 revision of AACR2.

Both chapters 1 and 2 of AACR2 were used in compiling the concordance, since some DCRB rules correspond only to rules in chapter 1, others only to chapter 2. Not considered were the rules for areas 3, 6, and 8, for which there are no rules in DCRB.

For the most part, there is a one-to-one correspondence between each DCRB rule and a rule in AACR2. Rules that match each other "in spirit" were considered a one-to-one match. Several DCRB rules (e.g., 1F1-1F8 ), however, have no equivalent in AACR2. The phrase "nothing comparable" is used in these cases.
