40.0 Assigning subject headings to special materials

There are special guidelines for cataloging certain types of materials and works in certain specific subject areas. In many cases, headings in addition to those mentioned in the general guidelines are assigned; in other cases, special headings are assigned in place of those specified in the general guidelines
