Field 901 was a local field used by LC for information concerning the custody of serials.  The current official office symbol (as listed in the LC telephone directory) is given in this field.

Field 901 contained one of the following symbols if the division is the primary custodian (i.e., the division was responsible for housing unbound issues and preparing them for binding.)
