007/03 Videorecording: Color

Character position definition and scope:

A one-character alphabetic code indicates the color characteristics of a videorecording. A fill character ( | ) is used when no attempt has been made to code this position.

Record requirements for National-level and Minimal-level records: Optional.

Guidelines for applying content designators:

Code:	Description:
a	One color Code a is not used with videorecordings.
b	Black-and-white The images in the videorecording are executed in black-and-white.
c	Multicolored The videorecording is executed in more than one color.
m	Mixed
n	Not applicable
u	Unknown Color characteristics of an item are not known.
z	Other Color characteristics for which none of the other defined codes is appropriate (e.g., toned, stained, tinted, etc.).
\|	No attempt to code

Character position 01 (Color) was moved to position 03 when field 007 was restructured in 1981.
