Field definition and scope:

Field 014 contains the control number from field 001 of a MARC bibliographic record for a serial or a multipart item that is cataloged as a set.  The inclusion of this field in the established heading record for a series provides a machine link within a system between the authority record for the series and a bibliographic record in which the heading for the series is used.  Each bibliographic record control number related to the series (and the associated organization's MARC code) is contained in a separate 014 field.

The National level record requirement for this field is Optional.

Field 014 is repeatable.
