Field definition and scope:

Field 643 contains the place of publication and the name of the publisher or issuing body of the series named in the 1XX field of an established heading record for a series. The field may also contain the volumes/dates to which the publication information applies. Multiple place and publisher/issuing body information may be contained in the field if each is appropriate to the series during a particular range of dates/volumes. Multiple place and publisher/issuing body information for different ranges of volumes/dates are contained in separate 643 fields.

The National level record requirement for this field is Optional.

Field 643 is repeatable.
