Field definition and scope:

Field 507 contains the scale of a graphic material item given as a note.  The field is used with architectural drawings and with three-dimensional artifacts.

For maps, this field can only be used to give scale information in records formulated according to pre-AACR 2 cataloging rules.  Scale notation is given in field 255 (Cartographic Mathematical Data) in AACR 2 formulated records.

For visual materials, this field is used with architectural drawings and with three-dimensional artifacts.

The National level record requirement for this field is Optional.

Field 507 is NOT repeatable.
