30.6.1.  Title proper

Once the chief source has been chosen (e.g., disc label etc.), determine the title proper based on the information found on that source.  Most electronic serials have a straightforward title consisting of a single statement which is transcribed as it appears on the chief source, as discussed in CCM Module 6.  (Figure 30.2.)

30.6.2.  Common title and section title

There are some electronic serials that have a common title given to many titles, with a more specific section title for a subject area, as is done with some print publications (see CCM 6.2).  (Figure 30.3a.)

30.6.3.  General material designation (GMD)

Provide the GMD "[electronic resource]" in subfield $h of the 245 field.

30.6.4.  Statement of responsibility

Following guidelines in AACR2 9.1F1 and 1.1F1, record the statement of responsibility as part of the title statement, whether it comes from the chief source or from other prescribed sources:  i.e., carrier or its labels, information issued by the publisher, or the container (AACR2 9.0B2).  It  should be bracketed only if it does not come from the chief source (Figure 30.3.).
