Field definition and scope:

Field 518 contains a note on the date/time and/or place of creation, capture, or broadcast associated with an event.  Such information includes date/time and/or place of recording, filming, execution, broadcast or, in the case of a naturally occurring object, of finding.  Field 033 (Date/Time and Place of an Event) contains the same information in coded form.

Date/time and place of an event note information may be encoded as a note in subfield $a or parsed into specific subfields.

Notes giving information about countries of production and release are recorded in field 500 (General Note).

The National level record requirement for this field is Optional.

Field 518 is repeatable.
