Update 16, 2005 (Updates)
Update 16 includes documentation on removal of the A&I coverage fields (510), removal of field 069 from CONSER records, and clarification of CONSER policy on parallel language records found in OCLC. References to "National Library of Canada" and "NLC" in the CEG sections included in this update were changed to "Library and Archives Canada" and "LAC." Clarifications, additions, and modifications have been made to examples in fields 245, 260, 533, 776, etc. This update also describes authentication code "lccopycat" and documents LC's use of authentication code "lc" only for original records as of Oct. 2004. Other key changes include clarification on use of the 776 08 $i convention in the aggregator neutral record and use of field 580, instead of 530, to describe multiple linking relationships to a single record. Some references to rules, web sites, and cross references within sections of the CEG were updated. Several typos were corrected.
